Verse Of the Day

Gettin' Creative, Crafty, and Comical

Also, do you write?

Poetry, music, stories, ideas...

Well for anyone who does, has ever before, or would really like to, I have an idea:

Make a commitment to your writing-self. As if it were a living being; its own entity.

You need to view you and your creativity like one of the most important relationships of your life.

The relationship will take time, love, and sincerity of heart.

If you keep your commitments to your writing-self (such as practicing often, reviewing what has been done, and always thinking about where to go next), then it will keep returning to you as the most faithful friend, with an overflow of beautiful, intriguing, and exiting things to write down.

In other words, get a notebook, dub it your "meeting place" and write OFTEN and REGULARLY.

Find prompts, such as on, or on websites like this one, or make up your own, or look out for random words and phrases that just spark your mind to a roaring fire of thoughts.

And then? RIGHT THEM ALL DOWN. You will be amazed how mind-blowing this relationship will become.

Now, you may be wondering why the posts below have such strange titles. Well, here's the thing- you never know what will start your writing-self to speak..or scream.. at your fingers to lift a pen to the paper and flow.

Laughter is an amazing thing.

Did you know that it has literally been proven by very smart people in long white coats that joy/laughter:
  • Lower blood pressure
  • Increase vascular blood flow and oxygenation of the blood
  • Give a workout to the diaphragm and abdominal, respiratory, facial, leg, and back muscles
  • Reduce certain stress hormones such as cortisol and adrenaline
  • Increase the response of tumor and disease-killing cells
  • Defend against respiratory infections–even reducing the frequency of colds
  • Increase memory and learning
  • Improve alertness, creativity, and memory

So! It's time to sit back a moment and enjoy the benefits of possibly the easiest health-boosting activity ever!
